PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pre-coating agent for offset printing, which improves drying property after coating of the aqueous pre-coating agent for offset printing and gloss of obtained coating film, and has excellent offset ink receptivity and offset ink drying property. SOLUTION: The aqueous pre-coating agent for offset printing includes white pigment mainly composed of titanium dioxide surface treated with alumina or alumina-silica, a polystyrene emulsion having an average particle diameter of 60-500 nm, an acid group-containing polymer resin that can be dissolved or dispersed in water in the presence of a basic compound, a basic compound and an aqueous medium as main components in the mass ratio of white pigment/polystyrene emulsion=90/10-40/60 based on the solid contents of the white pigment and the polystyrene emulsion. Before printing with ink for offset printing, printing paper is coated with the aqueous pre-coating agent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
