PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cover for files etc., even for existing files, tying together the side edges different from the stapling part so that they are not loosened, accommodated easily in a drawer or bookshelf of a cabinet without resulting in bulkiness, and free of the risk of damaging files etc. when they are put in or taken out. SOLUTION: Two sheets 2 overlapping with each other are provided, each of the sheets 2 being furnished with a first edge 3a and a second edge 3b located alongside two straight lines perpendicularly intersecting each other. The first edges 3a and the second edges 3b of the two sheets 2 are coupled together, and the other edges 3c are separated from each other. The edges 3c are recessed toward inside the sheet 2. At least one sheet 2 is structured so that its surface on the side confronting the other sheet 2 is furnished with a coating layer 4 consisting of a material having a large friction coefficient.
