摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of machining a female spline capable of aligning the phase of the female spline in an inner peripheral surface with the phase of an outer peripheral surface without using a special holding device. SOLUTION: A broach 101 is insertable into at least the axial one end of the inner peripheral surface of a torque transmission member 1 from the axial one end of the inner peripheral surface. When the broach 101 is inserted, a guide groove 13 for restricting the relative rotation thereof to a broach cutter 100 is formed. After the torque transmission member 1 is so disposed as to be rotated relative to the broach cutter 100 and that the axial one end of the torque transmission member 1 faces the end of the broach cutter, the broach cutter 100 is axially moved from the torque transmission member 1, and the broach 101 is inserted into the guide groove 13 for positioning the phases of the torque transmission member 1 and the broach cutter 100.
