PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seating mat having a seating face capable of activating a sensory system in a posture control system provided in a living body. SOLUTION: This seating mat 1 is installed to set its base in a substantially horizontal plane, the seating face 2 facing the base is provided to a seated person so that the X direction is directed in a left/right direction, the Y direction is directed in the front/rear direction, and the Z direction is directed in the height direction, as illustrated in Fig.1. The left/right direction of the seating face 2 is a symmetrical recessed face with a low central part. The front/rear direction of the seating face 2 is a symmetrical projecting face with a high central part. When a person sits on the seating face, the shape of a joint between the lumbar vertebrae has a structurally stable property in a vertical position to provide the pelvis with the stability in the left/right direction and instability (a freedom degree in the front/rear direction) in the front/rear direction and provide a natural and vertical state of the lumbar vertebrae.
