The method involves determining a mean marker configuration and time-dependent discrepancies from the mean configuration. An orthogonal distance regression is performed for determining the mean marker configuration. Markers mounted on each side of a body joint are used for performing a weighted orthogonal distance regression using the time-dependent discrepancies for weighting. A solution for a linear equalization problem is determined performing the weighted orthogonal distance regression. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an apparatus for evaluating a joint function of a subject (2) a system for detecting information relevant for characterization of joint movements. |
