OPTICAL SIGNAL SWITCHING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer an optical signal as light as it is with little deterioration and delay.

SOLUTION: An optical matrix switch (30) can optically perform one-to-one connection between a plurality of input ports (1i to 12i) and output ports (1o to 12o) with an optional combination. Output ports (9o and 10o) are connected to input ports (9i and 10i) through optical delay lines (32 and 34). Output ports (11o and 12o) are connected to input ports (11i and 12i) through wavelength converters (36 and 38). A controller (40) discriminates a destination or delivery destination of each input optical signal from respective outputs of photoelectric converters (28a and 28b). The controller (40) controls connection in the switch (30) and the wavelength of conversion destinations of the wavelength converters (34 and 36) according to a routing table (42) and a status table (44). Priorities of output ports to be connected are described in the table (42).
