<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a keyword by quickly correcting characters erroneously recognized by handwritten input to target characters. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary 1 has a main picture 10 and a keyboard 2; a sub-picture 11 integrally formed with a sub-touch panel 11a; an ROM 80 in which a dictionary DB84 is stored; and a CPU 20 for reading the explanation information of the keyword corresponding to a retrieval character string from a dictionary DB84, and for making a main screen 10 display the explanation information. The CPU 20 designates any character of the retrieval character string handwritten-input to the sub-touch panel 11a as a correction object character, and makes a sub-picture 11 display candidate characters as the designation of correction, and corrects the correction object characters to the characters selected by the sub-touch panel 11a, and corrects the characters input by a keyboard 2. Also, even when the correction object characters are corrected by either selection or input, the CPU 20 reads the explanation information of the keyword corresponding to the corrected retrieval character string from a dictionary DB84, and makes a main screen 10 display the explanation information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
