PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device enabling an optical sensor to be automatically cleaned by a simple and space-saving construction without necessitating a new drive mechanism. SOLUTION: The recording device records an image in a recording medium P by a recording head 7 based on image information. The recording device includes an optical sensor 100 detecting a state of a component such as an ink tank 71 and the like, an access cover 97 openably closably mounted on the outer package 9 of the device, and a link mechanism having an operation member 201 contacting the access cover and a driven member 202 holding an eradication member. The optical sensor is cleaned with the eradication member 203 by moving the driven member via the operation member in accordance with opening and closing of the access cover.
