PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush spring attaching method and device which prevent breakage of a brush. SOLUTION: The brush spring attaching method comprises a step for warping a brush spring 15 held by spring holding means 24 by turning a spring warping means 23 from the start point A<SB>0</SB>to the terminal point A<SB>1</SB>; a step for attaching the brush spring 15 to a support member 11; and a step for abutting the working end 15a of the brush spring 15 on the brush 14 while supporting the spring force generated by the brush spring 15 with the spring warping means 23 by turning the spring warping means 23 from the terminal point A<SB>1</SB>to the start point A<SB>0</SB>.
