PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately judge whether knocking occurs or not. SOLUTION: An engine ECU is provided with a crank angle detection part 600, an intensity detection part 602, a waveform detection part 604, a correlation coefficient calculation part 606, a correction part 608, and a judgment part 614. The crank angle detection part 600 detects crank angle. The intensity detection part 602 detects intensity of vibration at a knocking detection gate. The waveform detection part 604 detects vibration waveform at the knocking detection gate based on the intensity of the vibration. The correlation coefficient calculation part 606 compares the vibration waveform and a knocking waveform model determined based on vibration of an engine, and calculates the knocking waveform model of a comparison section determined according to the vibration waveform and the correlation coefficient K according to difference of the vibration waveform. The correction part 608 corrects the correlation coefficient K according to the comparison section.
