PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow valve for internal combustion engine capable of efficiently dissipating heat of a cap portion. SOLUTION: A hollow valve 1A has an umbrella part 2 and a stem part 3 guided by a valve guide 10, with a hollow part 4 being formed extending from the umbrella part 2 to the stem part 3, and the hollow part 4 being blocked by a cap 6 provided at a lower part of the umbrella 2. In the hollow part 4, there provided are a plurality of linear carbon fiber bundles 7 with thermal conductivity in a longitudinal direction being higher than thermal conductivity in cross-sectional direction. One end 7a thereof is located on an inner surface 6a of the cap 6, and the other end 7b thereof is located within a high dissipation range AR corresponding to a range where the valve guide 10 and the stem 3 can come into contact with each other.
