PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner for electrostatic charge image development, by which a polymerization toner having low classification efficiency because of much soft aggregates included therein can be efficiently classified and unnecessary fine powder is eliminated to prevent generation of white stripes. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner for electrostatic charge image development includes an external addition step of fixing or depositing an external additive to toner base particles after a classification step of classifying toner base particles produced by a wet method; and the method is characterized in that, when a particle diameter corresponding to 5/7 times of the volume average particle diameter of the toner base particles before classification is represented by Aμm, a ratio (X/Y) is not less than 1.4, wherein X represents a cumulative number% of particles having a diameter of equal to or smaller than Aμm before classification and Y represents the cumulative number% of particles having a diameter of equal to or smaller than Aμm after classification.
