PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a cylinder is manufactured by using a centrifugal casting method, an external cylinder made of a steel is partly melted by a molten lining layer alloy and causes iron being a main component of the external cylinder made of the steel to melt into the lining layer alloy and to decrease the corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: The cylinder for a molding machine is such a cylinder for the molding machine that forms the lining layer consisting of an abrasion-resistant and anticorrosive alloy containing nickel as the main component on the inner face side of a hollow cylindrical external cylinder made of the steel. An intermediate layer is formed between the lining layer and the external cylinder made of the steel, and the intermediate layer contains high melting point particles in a base matrix comprising nickel as the main component.
