PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective film for a display screen showing excellent adhesion, particularly hot-water adhesion durability between a silicone adhesive layer and a base film, having controlled peeling force between the silicone adhesive layer and a separation film and showing excellent visibility of the display screen due to its high transparency, and to provide a method of manufacturing the protective film for the display screen efficiently and economically. SOLUTION: The protective film for the display screen of an image display device includes a polyester-based base film (A), hot-water adhesion resistance-improved layer (B), an adhesive layer (C) composed of a crosslinked silicone compound having a polydimethyl siloxane skeleton, a mold release layer (D) and a polyester film (E), (A) to (E) being laminated in this order, and shows peeling force of 0.03 to 1.0 N/20 mm between the adhesive layer (C) and the mold release layer (D) measured by a predetermined method.
