The construction has a camera housing (KG) opening at a side and comprising a part (T1) whose free front surface has a positioning unit (P). The positioning unit is positioned on a printed circuit board (LP) that has an optical sensor and an illumination unit i.e. LED-chip. A slot (S) is formed in a surface of another part (T2) of the housing, and a protective housing encloses the camera housing and the printed circuit board. The protective housing has windows that are made from transparent plastic and glass, where the windows are designed as a cover and arranged on top of each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a housing construction.
