<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain a failure cause of a bill identification unit in which a failure occurred. <P>SOLUTION: The bill identification unit to be installed to an ATM performing transactions of paper sheets according to a user's operation includes a timer for counting the time; a plurality of sensors including an optical sensor for acquiring feature information of a paper sheet; a control part which determines the kind and authenticity of the paper sheet from the feature information of the paper sheet obtained by these sensors, and detects occurrence of a reject failure of the paper sheet; and a storage part which stores, based on the analysis by the control part, failure information of the paper sheet, the feature information thereof and the counted time of the timer in the occurrence of the failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
