PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strainer device which can capture a foreign matter successfully and also, can be easily incorporated in place as well as a strainer. SOLUTION: This strainer device is equipped with an inflow orifice 10D, and a housing 1 having a first running water path 11 in which a strainer chamber 11R is formed and a second running water path 12 extending in a direction where the former crosses the first running water path 11. In addition, the strainer device has a cylindrical strainer body 20 which is housed in a strainer chamber 11R and of such a structure that water flows into the interior of the strainer body 20 from its one end and filters the water on its side to discharge the water into the second running water path 12, and a foreign matter capturing part 30 which is positioned below the strainer body 20 and captures the foreign matter falling from inside the strainer body 20. The foreign matter capturing part 30 has its peripheral edge fixed to one end of the strainer body 20 and is formed of a rigid material which flexes upward when water flows into the first running water path 11 and does not flew downward by the foreign matter G captured when water does not flow into the first running water path 11.
