PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer unit capable of securely separating a transfer member from the image carrier, an image forming apparatus having the transfer unit, and a unit for the image forming apparatus, in which a first moving member disposed in contact with a predetermined member can be securely separated from the predetermined member. SOLUTION: The transfer unit 13 includes: a transfer member 17 that is movable between the first and second positions, is disposed in contact with the image carrier 10 in the first position and transfer an image on the image carrier 10 onto a recording medium P; a pressing means that presses the transfer member 17 toward the first position from the second position; the moving member 74 movable between the third position where it abuts on the transfer member 17 located in the first position and the fourth position where it abuts on the transfer member 17 located in the second position; and a pressing member 75 that presses the moving member 74 toward the third position from the fourth position.
