Disclosed is a fan arrangement (20) comprising a fan (24) that is driven by an electric motor (22), a device for detecting the electric power (Pist) consumed by the electric motor (22) during operation, an input device (28) for entering a desired speed (nsoll) of said electric motor (22), a converter (26) for converting said desired speed (nsoll) into a desired electric power (Psoll), and a regulator (44) which regulates the adjustable variable controlling the electric motor (22) in such a way that the difference between the electric power (pist) consumed during operation and the desired electric power (Psoll) is reduced in order to improve the characteristic air throughput curve (49, 58) of the fan arrangement (20) in at least part of the entire range of operation.
