<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer printing control device which can print in a page mode in which printing quality is excellent as much as possible in memory size and cope with long-size printing as necessary, in a thermal printer. <P>SOLUTION: A host computer 1 obtains the information of the memory size of the page memory 25 of the thermal printer 2. A mode switching determining section 12 compares a data size where image data to be printed of one page is expanded on printing data with the memory size of the page memory 25, to determine whether or not all of the printing data of one page can be expanded in the page memory 25. Thus, when it is determined that the expansion is possible, the printing data printed in the page mode is produced and transmitted to the thermal printer 2, to perform printing in the page mode.
