<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate filter which has high heat resistance and excellent PM combustion performance, for example, low initiation temperature when used for burning PM. <P>SOLUTION: The particulate filter has an oxidation catalyst layer 8, which promotes the combustion of captured particulates, on the surface of a porous partition wall 5. The oxidation catalyst layer 8 comprises a Ce-based compound oxide particle (A)21 having oxygen storage/release capacity and a Zr-based compound oxide particle (B)23 having oxygen ion conductivity and a catalytic noble metal 25-deposited, and heat-resistant and high-specific surface area particle (C)22 as a principal component. The weighted average particle diameter of each of the Ce-based compound oxide particle, the Zr-based compound oxide particle and the heat-resistant and high-specific surface area particle is ≤1 μm and the weighted average particle diameter of the heat-resistant and high-specific surface area particle (C)22 is positioned between that of the Ce-based compound oxide particle (A)21 and that of the Zr-based compound oxide particle (B)23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
