PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner capable of achieving a sufficient image density with a normal addition concentration of a pigment, without the necessity of adding the pigment in a high concentration and even when a deposition amount of the toner is small, capable of contributing to a solution to environmental problems by reducing the consumed amount of the toner, producing high picture quality and enlarging a range of color reproduction, and to provide a developer, an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner contains at least a binder resin and a pigment, and is characterized in that: the content of the pigment in the toner is from 3.0 mass% to 8.5 mass%; the volume average particle diameter of the toner is from 2.0μm to 6.0μm; and a monochrome image, which has been fixed on a recording medium so that the amount of the toner adhered onto the recording medium is 0.25 mg/cm<SP>2</SP>, has a reflection density of from 1.2 to 2.5.
