PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for skin examination which predicts speck formation of skin. SOLUTION: There is provided a skin examination method for predicting the speck formation of skin. When the expression quantity of MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor) in the skin is increased, as compared with the expression quantity in normal skin, the skin is determined as being liable to cause speck formation. In one preferred embodiment, a corneocyte collected noninvasively from a test object site is used as the skin specimen, and an RNA or protein extracted from the skin specimen is used as a specimen.
