PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with good separating work property for separating an outer layer formed on a periphery surface of a shaft core. SOLUTION: The roller includes a roller shaft core 151 and a roller outside layer 152 covering all or part of a central region in an axial direction of the roller shaft core 151. The periphery surface of the roller shaft core 151 has one groove 122 carved out from a first end section to a second end section going through the central region. The groove 122 has: a constant width section 122a in which the groove width existing in all or one part of the region in the first end section and the central region continuing from the first end section is substantially constant; and a width varying section 122b in which the groove width is gradually widened as the groove gets farther away from the first end section starting from a position closer to the second end section in the constant width section.
