The carrier (1') comprises three profile sections (101,102,103,104,105) arranged in a longitudinal direction with a varying wall thickness or varying bar shape. The carrier is formed as a profile. A middle profile section is provided, which has a higher wall thickness or a salient pole bar shape than an outer profile section. A plugged profile section is provided with a small overlapping area between two adjacent profile sections. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a sill.
