The roof (3) has rigid roof sections (5, 7), where the roof section (5) extends from a A-column (6) to a C-column of a motor vehicle (1) and the roof section (7) forms the C-column and encloses a passenger compartment above a vehicle chassis (2). The roof section (5) is rotatably supported at two pairs of connecting rods (65) guided to each other. Each connecting rod extends close behind a head rest (13) of one of vehicle seats (11) in a closed condition of the roof. Each pair of connecting rod includes two guides (67, 69) that are guided partially to each other. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a chassis.
