IMPROVED UPLINK SCHEDULING IN A CELLULAR SYSTEM

A method (400) for a cellular wireless system (100), according to which (410) a first controlling node (130), a NodeB, is used for a first cell in the system, and (415) EUL, Enhanced UpLink, is enabled for some of the users (120), UEs, in the first cell. Use is made (420) of an RNC (140), a Radio Network Controller, to allocate uplink resources to said NodeB as a shared resource pool (420), and the NodeB (130) allocates (435) resources from said pool to the UEs (120) in said first cell. The NodeB (130) is enabled to detect if its shared resource pool should be altered in size with respect to any one of the parameters in the pool, and (450) in such a case is enabled to inform the RNC (140) of this, and in that the RNC then carries out (457) such an alteration.
