<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the situation of becoming unable to continue photographing, when free space of a storage medium runs out during photographing, by imparting a chance for deleting the backed-up image with proper timing. <P>SOLUTION: The storage medium 105 records backup history information 107, indicating that image data is outputted to an external apparatus 116. A power source connection detecting part 112 detects the connection state of an AC adapter 111. When the power source connection detecting part 112 detects release of the connection of the AC adapter 111, a system controller 101 confirms whether the image data ha been outputted to the external apparatus 116, by confirming the backup history information 107. When the image data is outputted, a display part 108 displays that there exists transferred image data.
