<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment with which a product lineup of electronic equipment with various liquid crystal display units can be provided with simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A copy-facsimile multifunction machine 10 has an MPU 11 and a USB interface 27 for communication with the MPU 11. The MPU 11 is configured to control a monochromatic LCD when the multifunction machine 10 has standard monochromatic LCD specifications. The copy-facsimile multifunction machine 10 is so configured that a sub-system 60 controlling a color LCD 38 can be connected to the USB interface 27 to have color LCD specifications.
