WAVELENGTH SELECTIVE SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-displacement type wavelength selective switch capable of switching without mechanical displacement and making an elementary optical component of a bulk-type structure a two-dimensional hybrid or monolithic integration in order to simplify operation and configuration thereof. SOLUTION: The wavelength selective switch comprises: an optical demultiplexer for separating an incident light with a plurality of wavelengths every wavelength of light and outputting the separated wavelengths of light; an optical amplifier for selectively amplifying or absorbing the separated wavelengths of light; an optical deflector for selectively deflecting the output of the optical amplifier; and an optical multiplexer for multiplexing the selectively deflected light and outputting the multiplexed light.
