<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a multi-phase electric motor, highly accurately detecting a current value of each of phases while using a single current detector even when the current value is detected for a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The controller includes: a switching number determination section for determining whether or not the conducting number of upper arm switching elements is an even number or an odd number when current detection is not available; a phase shift means for shifting the phase of a predetermined phase PWM signal generated by a PWM signal generating means by a predetermined amount on the basis of a determination result of the switching number determination means, and outputting the shifted phase to a drive means; and a current detection period deciding means for deciding a current detection period on the basis of a rise time of a PWM signal having a duty of an intermediate phase if the switching number determination means determines that the number of the upper arm switching elements is an even number, and deciding the current detection period on the basis of a fall time of a PWM signal having a phase for detecting a current if the switching number determination section determines that it is an odd number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
