<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner supply mechanism which informs a user that a toner container is imperfectly attached at this point, and reliably prevents image forming operation from being performed while a container shutter is shut. <P>SOLUTION: The toner supply mechanism includes the container shutter 26, a joint 28 on a body side, a body joint gear 29 holding the joint 28, and an biasing means for biasing the joint 28 to the container shutter 26 side, and opens/closes a toner supply port in conjunction with opening/closing operation of a body cover, wherein a notch 28b is formed on the outer periphery of the joint 28, and a rod 31 in slide contact with the outer periphery of the joint 28 is interposed between the joint 28 and the body cover. When the container shutter 26 of the toner container and the joint 28 are normally coupled, the rod 31 is engaged with the notch 28b on the outer periphery of the joint 28 and falls therein, thereby closing operation of the body cover is permitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
