This aims to provide an inspecting device for inspecting the deflection of a spark plug insulator which includes a body having a cylindrical shape and a radially-enlarged flange formed at a radially intermediate portion, and a through hole formed in the axial direction of the body. The inspecting device comprises an insulator supporting means for supporting the spark plug insulator slidably in the axial direction, a straight inspection pin to be inserted into the through hole of the spark plug insulator supported by the insulator supporting means, and detecting means for detecting the slide of the spark plug insulator when this spark plug insulator is slid because the spark plug insulator is deflected more than a predetermined allowance so that the inspection pin cannot pass completely through the through hole.
