METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING ORGANIC-CONTAINING WATER

A method by which an organic-containing wastewater is efficiently treated using a simple apparatus with simple operation control; and an apparatus for the method. The apparatus includes a reactor (1) which has a double-pipe structure comprising an outer pipe (2), an inlet nozzle (3) disposed in an upstream lateral side of the outer pipe (2), an outlet nozzle (4) disposed in that lateral side of the outer pipe (2) which is located downstream from the inlet nozzle (3), and an inner pipe (5) disposed inside the outer pipe (2). The inner pipe (5) is one having ozone permeability and oxidation resistance. An organic-containing water to which an ozone decomposition accelerator has been added is passed through the outer pipe (2), and an ozone-containing gas is supplied to the inner pipe (5). The ozone inside the inner pipe (5) permeates the wall of the inner pipe (5) and flows into the organic-containing water. Part of the ozone which has flowed into reacts with the ozone decomposition accelerator contained in the water to generate OH radicals. The ozone and the OH radicals decompose the organic substances contained in the water.
