The slide bearing has a tension support between a starting disc and a bearing bush, a joining collar to a support shoulder in a positive-locking fashion. A sliding bearing for a shaft, especially an armature or rotor shaft of an electric motor, has a bearing shield (25) with a bearing bush (24) in this mounted coaxially, made of sintered metal. This has a collar (241) for the axial support on a support shoulder designed on the shield. There is a starting disc (32) sitting on the shaft (16) near the collar. Between the starting disc and the bearing bush lies a tension support (27) joining the collar to the support shoulder in positive-locking fashion, which is clamped coaxially to the shaft on the bearing shield leaving an annular gap (29). The width of the annular gap is as small as possible and is preferably dimensioned so that by consideration of manufacturing tolerances that occur, the shaft and tensioning support just do not touch.
