PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optional optical frequency and an optical frequency comb of central optical frequency and an optical frequency comb of repetition frequency. SOLUTION: A phase modulation part 102 phase-modulates CW light output from a laser beam source 101 by a repetition reference signal of frequency f<SB>rep</SB>obtained from a microwave reference frequency generator 103, and a wavelength dispersion applying means 104 applies wavelength dispersion to generate an optical pulse train of repetition frequency f<SB>rep</SB>. Thereafter, in a detection part 109, a second harmonic wave is generated from the long wavelength side of wide spectrum range light obtained by a nonlinear optical medium 108 by a self-reference interferometer, and then interfered with a fundamental wave on the short wavelength side, and a resulting optical beat is detected and photoelectrically converted.
