741,694. Ink-ribbon mechanism. BELLINGER, H. June 26, 1953 [July 5, 1952; March 16, 1953], No. 17851/53. Class 100 (4). An arrangement for preparing hectograph master sheets on a typewriter comprises means for feeding a master sheet b, Figs. 1, 2 and a carbon sheet f in the same direction but by different amounts through the region g in which the type bars strike, with the inked surface of sheet f adjacent the sheet b, and thence round a reversing device h located below the region g and back through it between the platen a and master sheet b. The carbon sheet f is fed by a draw-off device by the height of the type at each line feed. Fig.' 2 shows a similar arrangement except that, in order to avoid soiling of the platen face by the carbon sheet f, a protective paper strip n is fed uniformly 'with the carbon sheet f by a pair of rollers o an amount according to the height of type for each line space, the inked side of sheet f being disposed against strip n, so that sheets f, n may be handled for tearing or cutting without soiling the fingers.
|
