Ammunition or projectile for illuminating a battlefield

The projectile (1) has multiple illuminants (7) for illuminating a ground area or waterbody. The illuminants are integrated in a projectile shell (2). Each illuminant has a deceleration element and is eccentrically stored inside the shell. A filling element (8) axially forms a channel (10) for discharge gas. The deceleration element is ignited by the filling element. A discharge load (3) is burned in the shell at an area of a projectile ogive (9) to apply pressure on a discharge disk. Stabilization elements are provided on the illuminant.
