<p>The casting piston rod for a casting machine, comprises a cylindrical base body (1) entirely or predominantly out of light metal material, a coupler for coupling a casting piston and/or a coupler for coupling a drive piston arranged on the base body. The base body has axial cool channel bore (4, 5). The casting piston coupler and/or the drive piston-coupler consist of another material like the base body and are mounted as separate component on the base body. The casting piston-coupler is arranged on the cylindrical side and the drive piston coupler is arranged on the other cylindrical side.
