The invention relates to: a visor extension for a motor vehicle, or a sun protector; the operating mechanism thereof; the method for installing same on traditional built-in motor vehicle visors; and the simple method for using and positioning same. More specifically, the invention relates to a type of extension for a motor vehicle visor, which is totally different from those currently available on the market. The extension comprises a simple structure that can be easily installed and positioned externally and is essentially characterised in that it combines the advantages of providing sun protection when driving with the sun head-on or side-on and the advantages of different visors currently available on the market, but with significantly fewer components.
