The device includes a cutter frame 20 holding a blade 21, 11, a conductive platform 22, 12 and an electric conduction status detecting unit 241. The unit detects the electrical status, e.g. voltage or current, between the blade 21, 11 and the conductive platform 22, 12. A power source, e.g. battery 142A, has terminals coupled to the supporting surface 22, 12 and blade 21, 11, and the circuit is preferably completed when the blade 21, 11 comes into contact with the electrically conducting surface 22, 12, when the material 3 is cut. The frame 20 moves between two end positions R1, R2, at which limit switches 261, 262, controlling an optional driving mechanism 25, may be located. |
