A method of manoeuvring a motor driven device comprising a chassis (4), a unit arranged in the chassis for propelling the device across a support surface, said unit comprising a first wheel- or drum-shaped driving member (1, 23a) arranged on a first side of the longitudinal axis of the device and a second wheel- or drum-shaped member (2, 23b) arranged on a second side of the longitudinal axis of the device, said driving members being connected to a common drive axle (3, 23), and at least one pair of wheels, arranged in the chassis, which comprises a first individually suspended wheel (5) arranged on the first side of the longitudinal axis and a second individually suspended wheel (6) arranged on the second side of the longitudinal axis, said driving members and individually suspended wheels having parallel planes of rotation which are non-pivotable relative to the chassis. According to the invention, the individually suspended wheel on the first or the second side of the longitudinal axis is lowered relative to the chassis in order to thereby cause the driving member on this side of the longitudinal axis to be lifted, so that this driving member clears the support surface. The invention also relates to a motor driven device for the realization of the method. |
