<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying with high luminance and high contrast and excellent in easiness for manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is configured in such a manner that the liquid crystal layer thickness in a transmissive display region T and the liquid crystal layer thickness in a reflective display region R are different from each other, a retardation layer 23 containing a polymer liquid crystal is formed between a counter substrate 25 and a TFT array substrate 10, and the polymer liquid crystal in the retardation layer 23 shows different alignment states between the transmissive display region T and the reflective display region R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
