Class 52(iv) The bed surface described in the parent Specification is modified so that the air space disposed below the bed occupant is subdivided by means of longitudinal or transverse strips 6 depending from the upper surface 2 and touching or spaced slightly from the lower surface 5 so that air currents are obviated. Fig. 3 shows such a bed mattress carried by a frame comprising longitudinal bars 1 secured to bowed transverse frame members. Fig. 6 shows another form of frame, the frame 10 being carried by a lower frame 16 by struts 14 having sleeves 17, 18 so that frame members are resilient and may also act in torsion. The invention is applicable to chairs and the material of the upper and lower surfaces is impermeable to air and preferably capable of reflecting heat rays. |
