The invention relates to a biotechnological method for the processing of meat by-products, in which the starting material takes the form of meat waste originating from tanning and agri-food industries, which material is first subjected to a degreasing and grinding treatment and is subsequently incubated with bacterial strains such as Bacillus subtillis and E. CoIi in aerobic or anaerobic conditions while being stirred at atmospheric pressure and at a temperature of between 30 and 40 °C, thereby generating the production and secretion of enzymes with proteases, elastases, collagenases, keratinases and lipases, leading to the digestion of the meat waste which is transformed into a hydrolysate of liquid consistency essentially consisting of amino acids and peptides. The hydrolysate is collected for later use as an organic soil amendment for the treatment of soils and plants, in the form of a biostimulant and biopesticide product owing to the high sulphur amino acid content thereof.
|
