The device has an electrical pump activated by an electric motor. A maintaining unit has a clutch device for couplably maintaining a mechanical pump of an automatic gearbox and a motor shaft (34). The mechanical pump is coupled to the shaft. The pressure (P) supplied by the electrical pump is mechanically acted on the maintaining units so as to uncouple the shaft and the mechanical pump using an uncoupling device, during a stop phase of the vehicle at idling speed.
