The device (10) has a gear motor with an output shaft (18) rotatably mounted in a transmission dome (14) of a gearbox (12) by bearings (20, 22) e.g. roller bearings. The shaft is axially fixed by a protector cap (26) integrated to a segment (38) of the shaft. The protector cap has a support surface (30) made of steel sheet and supported by a seat pressed on the notch less segment exceeding the dome. The seat is selected such that minimal force of sliding of the cap on the shaft is greater than the maximal force acting on the shaft during operation.
