<p>In an active matrix substrate (10) included in a liquid crystal display device, a source bus line (12) (signal wiring) partially overlaps both of two pixel electrodes (14, 14) adjacently disposed in an extending direction of a gate bus line (11) (scan wiring) and is disposed so as to intrude from the boundary between the two pixel electrodes (14, 14) toward the center of each of the pixel electrodes. The source bus line (12) is also disposed so as to overlap a rib (26) (orientation changing portion) in at least part of the area overlapped with the pixel electrode (14), the rib being formed on an opposing substrate in order to control the orientations of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal layer. This makes it possible to obtain a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing the display irregularity of an image without degrading the aperture ratio even when a signal line is disposed so as to be directed toward the center of a pixel electrode.</p> |
