A fuel cell includes: an electromotive portion having a film electrode assembly formed by a cathode, an anode, and an electrolyte film sandwiched between the cathode and the anode; a fuel supply mechanism arranged at the anode side of the film electrode assembly for supplying a fuel to the anode; and a fuel containing unit which contains the fuel and is connected to the fuel supply mechanism via a channel. A cation exchange resin or an anion exchange resin is arranged between the fuel containing unit and the fuel supply mechanism and used for capturing a proton movement-inhibiting substance contained in the fuel. |
