An apparatus for moving, lifting and handling a handicapped person which comprises of: a. A base unit on wheels with a frame consisting of two vertical rails, carrying, on top, a horizontal shaft. b. A seat which can slides up and down along the vertical rails of the frame from floor level. c. A chain wheel mounted on the shaft, a hydraulic cylinder with a piston and rod for lifting and lowering the seat, a chain which is mounted on the chain wheel and connected on one side to the seat and the other side to the piston rod. d. A foot pedal with a predetermined stroke, which pumps hydraulic fluid into the upper part of the hydraulic cylinder thus lowering the piston rod, which lifts up the seat via the chain and a releasing handle activating a valve that enables the seat to move down slowly. |
